Possible to have persistent logins using Secure Site?

Is there a persistent login module which will work with Secure Site -OR- is there an alternative to Secure Site which will work with either the Persistent Login or the Remember Me module?

Right now I have php session timeout set to a very high number to keep users logged in. However, I find it to not be particularly reliable or secure.
