I am having a lot of difficulty and I must be missing something. No matter what I do, I cannot get the flowplayer to show up in the file handling area. It always says missing.

(1) Where do I place the directory?
(2) Do I need to rename it?
(3) In the Drupal 6 instructions it reports that I need to change the file name, but I don't see anywhere to do that.

Thanks for any assistance.

  1. The player and its supporting files need to go in modules/swftools/shared/flowplayer3.
  2. You don't rename the player, but you need to make sure that SWF Tools is looking for the right player. FlowPlayer 3 releases include the version number in their filename, so as new releases come along you ned to update the module settings. When you upload your player make a note of its name, e.g. flowplayer-3.1.0.swf. Now go to Administer > Site configuration > SWF Tools > FlowPlayer 3. Expand Player and plugin files, and check the player name matches. Correct it if it doesn't and save the settings.
  3. Since FlowPlayer 3.1 it is not necessary to change any player or plugin names. The problem was the earlier FlowPlayer3 couldn't properly find its audio plugin and the work around was to rename it. This was a FlowPlayer bug, not a SWF Tool bug.

Documentation page updated to make clear that the audio plugin bug doesn't affect FlowPlayer 3.1 onwards.
