Issue Summary

Please, provide some instructions on how to use this module. One of the biggest issues with Drupal is the lack of documentation.

Assume someone is new to drupal. OK, enable module. Get Key, Then what? Configure module? OK Then what? Where is the map?

I got a google api key, enabled page content type. even enabled a block.

I do not see anything to configure on a new page content type or any blocks.

thanks!

It's working for me.

- Install the module
- Put in the API key(s), if this is not done properly nothing will work
- On the admin page, select 'node map' and choose the node types you want to use it with

Then when you edit/add those node types you will have the 'node map' options in the edit page. The map will show up in the block you've activated.

I didn't get anything at the beginning because I didn't have the Yahoo key in the form. Just having the google one is not enough.

Hope this helps

oh, perhaps I should add I'm using the 5.x version...

Thanks peashooter. I don't have the yahoo key entered. I'll go get one. Seems like the module could make this a mandatory field or something. Or, it should be called YahooMap. At the very least, say that it is a mandatory to have yahoo key. I'm still not sure why this would not work if google is also offered. We wasted days on this one, trying other modules etc.

my team and I really get bummed out about drupal with this kind of stuff. It's great that people create and contribute modules such as these, but it gives drupal a bad name when things aren't documented and it make things easier to do on other platforms because of this lack of documentation.

I'm gonna try it out with a yahoo key.

Thanks again!

I read somewhere that there was going to be support for googlemaps somewhere... though I'm quite impressed by the Yahoo maps to be honest.

I know better documentation would always be nice, but hey I'm also happy people are sharing for free... fully supported software with the same functionality would cost untold amounts of money..

Thanx peashooter for your help, but could you please tell me which ID did you get from Yahoo! website? Did you get a generic ID? According to what you wrote previously I am just missing the Yahoo ID thing, I got two generic id's but none of them is working. Please tell me if I should do something else.

Thank you again.

I went to this page http://developer.yahoo.com/maps/ and clicked on 'build an application' on the right... does that work for you?

It's strange. It works with events but not with story (node map is enabled for both of them).
