passing arguments to a node?

I'm totally baffled how to find this information. I want to pass values to my module like this:
http://mysite/module/val_a/val_b/etc
You can do that in Drupal right? Anyone have any idea where I can find any documentation or examples of that? My eyes hurt from reading search results that have nothing to do with my question. :-(

hmm I guess I see what is going on. The value is passed as an argument to the callback function. It's been a while since I have done this and the documentation tripped me up a little.
