I wasn't sure where to post this question. I find the available choices somewhat lacking in certain cases.

Is there a way to get a notification via email if someone replies to a topic I've posted (or even a thread I want to "watch")? I haven't seen any options that seem to pertain to that. Am I just missing it somewhere?

i havent been able to figure it out either, which is annoying. you can click on 'my account' and then 'track' to see the list, but i cant find a way to get an automatic email, which is prefered

it's utterly ridiculous that this isn't a standard feature of drupal forum. Sad.

Because theres like 10 different ways to do it. It takes time for one method to bubble up to become "the one" and then be made core worthy. If no one steps up to champion it/drive it home, then it doesn't get done. period. Currently I like the http://drupal.org/project/watcher module.
