Version 5.x-2.2 of lightbox2 is no longer supported. You should really consider upgrading to 5.x-2.9

In the past when this issue has arisen, it's usually (a) an old version of the code or (b) jquery update has not been installed correctly. If you upgraded jquery_update or Drupal, don't forget that you need to copy the jquery_update files into Drupal's misc/ directory again. Be sure to read the README.txt file for your version of jquery_update.

So you're using 5.x-2.9 now? what version of jquery update are you using? Did you follow all the instructions in the jquery update README file? With newer versions of jquery_update, there is more than one file to copy to the misc/ directory, so please ensure you've followed all the steps.
