Validation must accept "modern" domain names

For example in the swedish domain (.se), swedish characters such as å, ä, and ö are now allowed. However, the validation in Link does not allow such names, although the domains do exist and are completely correct. Either Link should be modified to allow such domain names, or there should be an option to disable or customize the validation function.
