When i create a new content type i can add new field but i cannot delete the default fields such as:
Title, Body, etc.. or it is the same that i cannot delete the field of the content page.
I remember that in the Drupal 5.x version it is possible
How do i do

You can't delete the title field (and never could) but you can hide it with the auto_nodetitle module. For the body field you remove any text in the "Body field label" textbox in the "Submission form settings" fieldset on the content type edit page.

I have installed the auto_nodetitle module and effectively i can hide the title field but when i display the content created with the new type of content it display the name of the content type instead of the name of the title field.
Moreover i cannot find any way to hide also the new fields created cck

No clue what your first question is asking. As for cck fields, go to the "display fields" tab-- there you can choose not to show the fields.

Hi guys,

I am running into the same thing. I was reading all the posts which the options are available for the new fields I created, but none of these are available for my default fields.

In my case, I am ok with Title and Body, but I need to remove default fields: Menu Settings, Revision Information, Comment settings, Path settings.

The thing is, certain role will be able to create a new node from this one content type, but I don't want them to have access to this content type like an admin. In the settings for this content type, Comments is disabled already, but the Comment settings field still shows up. And I don't need these users to set their own URL with PathAuto nor put it in the navigation menu. I guess my problem is, I just need to do this on this ONE content type.

Please advise.

I don't know how many ways to explain this-- this stuff is controlled by permissions. if you're having problems with a particular fieldset, the easiest way to figure it out is to turn them all off and add them back one by one until you figure which one is adding fieldsets you don't want users to have access to.

Thank you. It is working now. I guess it was probably a website bug or something. It worked when the url had www and didn't work when url didn't have www. Now that I redirect everything to have www, everything is working the way it should be. Thank you for the reply.

How did you get it working? I cant find Menu settings etc in my Permissions list.

I have a lot of fields and I don't see anything relevant to disabling menu settigns, url path, or any of the other default CCK fields. Could you please let me know what option this would be.

take a look at this comment and post. there aren't enough permission to hide every single field

You are completely correct. And even if there were permissions for this, there needs to be a way to toggle this on a per form level.
