Bascially offer installing the module and creating the Mysql tables, the menu item "administer >> settings >> taxonomy_access" does not appear.
This looks like a similar issue.
http://drupal.org/node/40137
I'm using the latest version (at this time) available at: http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_access

keve commentedIf it is the same issue, please do not send a new bug report.
1. Did you enable the module on admin/module page?
2. Is it the same exactly issue as http://drupal.org/node/40137?
chrisd commented1) Yes.
2) This looks like a similar issue to http://drupal.org/node/40137 in the sense that I do not have the menu item "taxonomy_access".
2.1) But enabling all my modules did not fix it (like freeq80 suggested at: http://drupal.org/node/40137).
2.2) Also disabling and enabling a few menu items did not help (still no menu item "taxonomy_access").
If it helps, I'm running:
Apache 2.2.0
PHP 5.1.2 (as a DLL module no the cgi)
MySQL 4.0.26
Thank you,
Christophe D
Comment #3
keve commentedReally no idea. I could not regenerate it.
that menu item is rendered by hook_settings.
What other menu items you have in the admin/settings menu?
What version of TAC module are you using? (top of the module file: $id...., when you open it in editor) like 1.52?
keve commentedDoes this link work for you: /admin/settings/taxonomy_access?
chrisd commentedI'm running:
// $Id: taxonomy_access.module,v 1.52 2006/01/01 17:46:43 keve Exp $
// Based on original taxonomy_access.module made by pyromanfo
/**
* Implementation of hook_help
*/
If I load /admin/settings/taxonomy_access?, I get a page with
"Home » Administer Menus
settings"
and 2 buttons right under "Save configuration" "Reset to defaults"
I get the same result/page by loading /admin/settings/does_not_exist
Thank you,
Chris D
Comment #6
keve commentedAre you sure, you have the module properly enabled?
Can you access: admin/access/category?
it seems that you have a problem with the hook_settings function.
Can you try the module attached. (rename it to *.module)
Can you see admin/settings/tac_test ?
chrisd commented1) Can you access: admin/access/category?
Yes get the same thing as admin/access without the inital text.
Initial text is:
"Permissions let you control what users can do on your site. Each user role (defined on the user roles page) has its own set of permissions. For example, you could give users classified as "Administrators" permission to "administer nodes" but deny this power to ordinary, "authenticated" users. You can use permissions to reveal new features to privileged users (those with subscriptions, for example). Permissions also allow trusted users to share the administrative burden of running a busy site."
2) Can you see admin/settings/tac_test ?
Yes I get:
"tac_test
Enable the tac_test module.
Disable the tac_test module.
" + 2 buttons
Thanks,
Christophe D
If it helps I'm running PHP5.1.2
Comment #8
lakon commentedWanted to add that I am having the same problems as chrisd. If it helps I am using the Drupal beta 4.
keve commentedtac_test includes exactly the same hook_settings as taxonomy_access.
It has the same symptoms as if the module were not properly enabled. (No settings page, no categroy permissions page).
Maybe your file is corrupted.
Please, for checking, try latest cvs version.

The same module on a different Drupal install, gives me the menu ,"taxonomy_access", just fine...
It could be some incompatibility between this module and another...?

keve commentedYou only have problem w/ taxonomy_access?
When all these module enabled, and you enable tac_test file above, does it appear?
When all modules other than drupal core + TAC enabled, does the menu item appear?
Please, try after this, enabling modules one by one, so that we can catch w/ which module there might be a compatibility problem?
chrisd commented0) You only have problem w/ taxonomy_access?
Yes...so far the only module I was never able to test (nearly tested all the modules 4.7 modules....like most newbies...).
1) Can you see admin/settings/tac_test ?
Yes (with all those modules) that little snippet worked just fine, I got:
"tac_test
Enable the tac_test module.
Disable the tac_test module.
" + 2 buttons
2) Disabled all modules except:
block
filter
page
system
taxonomy
taxonomy_access
user
watchdog
and still no menu :-(
3) If I install this module on a new 4.7.0B4 the menu apears just fine...go figure...
----
Must be something with upgrade from Beta2 then Beta3 and then Beta 4?
If you want close this issue go ahead.
Thanks for the effort,
Christophe D

keve commentedNo idea what could have caused it.
