6.1.x (HEAD) Not compatible with Drupal 6.12?

Description
just used "drush dl" with CVS to get the 6.1.x (cvs deploy says HEAD) version, and got the following error from drupal in the module list page. "This version is incompatible with the 6.12 version of Drupal core."

just needed an additional line in the .info file:
core = 6.xpatch attached.

you have HEAD, not 6--1. the version is in 6--1.
