I have just swapped over to Drupal after using Joomla. The site is up and I was attempting to optimizing it when I noticed some searches returning zero results. The site has been fully indexed, cron is running, there appears to be no obvious problems to me except this.

I have a page titled "HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer"

If I search :

  • Officejet 6310 Printer -- yes results
  • HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer -- yes results, it lists the article
  • HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer 3 -- no results because of one extra character 3
  • HP Officejet 6310 All in One Printer -- no results at all. There are two or more officejet entries and far more printer entries none were found.

I tried the same searches with "OR" and recieved similar results
If the user adds an extra character or word, or makes a spelling mistake no results are returned, Is this correct ? . Is there a way to change this behaviour or do I have something set up wrong ?
