After upgrading to Messaging and Notifications 2.0, the Mail to Web message cleaning ("On Wed, so-and-so wrote...") seems to have stopped working.

I don't remember which clients the built-in cleaning system works for so I can't say for sure if that is broken too, but the Mail to Web Extras module is definitely not working for me at the moment.

I have two sites running this setup right now, one on M&N 1-x (works) and the other on 2.0 (doesn't work). The Mail to Web and Mail to Web extras code is identical on both so I'm assuming something changed in the new version of M&N but I can't see where that would effect mail to web.

Other than that the upgrade seems to have gone fine as far as Mail to Web in concerned.

Has anyone else come across this? Unless I hosed my notifications setup in the upgrade someone must have seen this too?

I've been looking around a bit and haven't seen anything obvious. If anyone has a suggestion about where to look I would appreciate it.

Hey Ian,
I was still having this problem but I spent a little time today and figured it out. I think in my case it was just that Mac mail changed what it inserted above the message to use the name instead of the email address (or to use the name if available perhaps, I haven't tested that part).

Either way, I made a patch that has everything working again: #597756: Mac Mail and old Outlook emails not being cleaned properly

Marking this a duplicate of that issue.

Switch to mailcomment project. Mail2web is now known as "mailcomment" due to a trademark issue with the name mail2web.
