What is the reason of this "limit"? :)

It would be a nice feature to change the width of this theme. Because I would like to show a bigger picture and a wide node...

I am trying to make a 960 version of this theme. The main problem for not making it floatable is that the images in the header and footer are (and need to be) fixed in width. So you should provide a header/footer images per width.
