"login to post comments" confusing?

Not sure if this has been discussed before. Anyone else think that the "login to post comments" link is confusing? I believe it may confuse users that even when logged in do not have permission to post comments. Something else might be required to join a user group that really can.

It would be more accurate something like "login to see if you can post comments", heh. Well, it's just to ilustrate what I mean.

Please, think about someone that visits your site, finds something interesting and wishes to post, (s)he might try to register to find out that that was not true, if the site is configured to allow comments to a restricted user group.
