How do Categories (taxonomy) work for this module?

I am relatively new to Drupal. I have about 20 modules already installed on my site. I am confused on the Categories portion of this module. I do not currently use Taxonomy. I cannot seem to find a way to get the settings to work. How can I setup taxonomy so that I only have General and possibly Content as taxonomy categories and how would those be entered on the settings page.
