Hi,
My website has a TON of mp3 audio. I use the audio module to secure the audio for members only.
I noticed that even though I have dissabled "Download Audio", that audio is still able to be downloaded by simply right clicking on the FLASH arrow that plays the audio and selecting "download", thus making that feature useless.
This really seems to be an issue with the player overriding the coding of the module, however I was hoping that somebody might have a solution since preventing the download of audio is a nice feature and worth having.
Thanks,
Patrick

drewish commentedI've looked into it a bit and I don't think you'll be able to prevent people from downloading the files. The problem is that if they're able to play them, they're able to download a copy. Flash actually saves a full copy of the MP3 in the browser's cache. Macromedia/Adobe's solution is to buy their communications server package so you get "real" streaming. All we can really do is make it harder for users to figure out how grab a copy.
Having the right-click to download makes it pretty obvious and I agree that you ought to be able to disable that feature. You should probably open up a feature request on the XSPF player's SourceForge page.

drewish commentedSince there's not much we can do about this, I'm marking it as won't fix.
