Issue in submitting a event in drupal 5

Hi,
I had used the event module in drupal for submitting an event. But the issue is that two entries are going in the database.
1st entry is of the nid created and second entry is 1 greater that the current nid .It's type is also event . Please tell the fix of the issue.
