With most recent versions of Drupal core, views, CCK Date, Location, Gmap, Gmap location I have created a Content Type that contains Date and GMap Location.

I have enable Location for this Content type by setting in the the Locative information area, the Number of Locations: Min, Max and Added at Once to 1:1:1 each.

The Content type now collections location information and displays it in Peveiw mode, but when I submit this, it does not show up.

I have turned of "Collapsed" in Collection, I have toggled the Display of and on again. Disabled and re-enabled the components, etc. etc.

No tinkering seems to help.

I now know what the problem is.

I have used the excellent Locative Collection Settings Defaults to pre-populate the most frequent location used for events in this community.

If none of these default values are altered, none of the values (at all) are carried over into the node content when it is submitted. The node behaves as if all Locative fields are empty.

If one alter any default value, such as deleting the last character in one of the fields default values, then all of the Locative data is carried through into the node when it is submitted.

You're posting this in the wrong module issue queue, or you're using the wrong module. GMap Location creates a single page with a single location that can be displayed, and a block that can link to this. What you're trying to do sounds like something you'd do with GMap module, with confusingly includes a module they call "GMap Location"—but it isn't this module.
