Hi all,
this is a newbie question, maybe silly and simple but I could not fine the solution myself.
There is none link (and it was there :-) ) on the front page of my new drupal site which would point to older posts. I have found just the number of posts topic under Administer -> Content management -> Post settings, but the biggest number there is 30, which will be overcome sooner or later so my problem will emerge again.
Could you please provide some guidlines?
Thnx in advance.

I believe you may have to hack the module to get any more than the administration area allows.
However, I believe that it can be problematic in some cases depending on how high that number is set as the front page may become slower to render because of the amount of threads being pulled to the front page. the devel.module may help figure that out on a test site using devel.module created content to test.
strange is
that the link to older part of the site was there!
However I have been heavily tuning my site, so chances are I have switched off this feature/option somewhere. So possibly it could be setup somewhere, but where? :-)
Please, anybody faced and solve such an issue?
Please, it is so simple and such frustrating.......
Gurus,
I cannot believe that there is really nobody to give me a solution... :-)

We must first totally understand the problem to offer a solution.
The "none" link you are talking about that lead to "older posts" doesn't compute for me. I don't understand what you are trying to convey.
in yoru second comment you speak of a "link" to the older part of your site. What link? Where was it? What does the "older site" consist of? is it drupal?
Maybe a screenshot of what you are seeing, or a link to your site so that those trying to help you can have a better understanding.
the link to older posts
I have in my new drupal sites about 20 posts total.
But - for example - I will set that on the main page there should be only 7 newest posts. So the older are not already on the main page so normally I would assume that somewhere at the front main page (usually on the bottom) there would be link(s) to older pages, e.g. in the form:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 last
where 1 is the 1st page - i.e. the front page - and following are older pages in success.
And I claim :-) that these dynamic links were there but now they are not there which means for me, that this is a feature of Drupal but I have somehow disabled it. And I would like to enable it ;-)

that's called paganation. if you switch to another theme, specifically a core theme is the problem still apparent? if not, the problem is likely a themeing issue.
it is independent of the chosen theme
whether I am using "A3 Atlantis" theme or any other - including the most classical one "Bluemarine" - the paganation is not active.
I have tried to bypass the issue with primary/secondary links, but no success.

I have no idea what would make the pager disappear from the front page.
are you using the custom_pagers.module?
if your front page the default front page or a front page created with views.module?
front page
is the default front page
I have not used custom_pagers module; now I have download it and enabled it - still to no avail, I am experimenting....
through Administer --> Views --> Frontpage --> Defaults --> Use pager: Yes, Full pager, Pager element: 1
I am getting within the Life preview the symbolic links to older, first and last pages. However when saving the settings and going to my frontpage there is nothing like that there....
So at least I am one step further to solution.....any hints?
pager at the front page doesnt work
i have the same problem after updating from 6.16 to 6.17 but not sure if its the true reason.
