content_taxonomy fields wont work with multigroup option

I realize that multigroup is under development, however it appears that many have been able to get it to work with content_taxonomy fields. However I get the following error when I try to add a content_taxonomy field to a multigroup:

This change is not allowed. The field label handles multiple values differently than the Content module. Making this change could result in the loss of data.

I have not been able to run the patch for content_taxonomy that is supposed to allow for this option. I get a failed at 76 error message.

Could someone tell me how to get the patch to run or could someone post a working content_taxonomy_options.module file?
