HI all - totall newbie here - hoping for some clarity on how Block Administration works...
I'm moving a site over to drupal and it's basic structure is with a main website with shared header & footer throughout 90% of the pages. There will be about 10 sub-departments (I would call them sections but don't want to confuse it with the section module which I have installed). Each sub-department will have custom sub banner, center content, photo gallery etc... Each area separately administered by the heads of those departments.
So I'm trying to sort out blocks. I have the concept of creation and some use but I'm confused about the management/organization...
If I have say a "latest news" block and the main department wants it on 1 page center block, department 2 wants it on the left sidebar of every page, department 3 wants it on the right sidebar of some pages ... etc...
When looking at the page "Site building › Blocks" I see the blocks for my theme. I don't see
is there a way to put 1 block in 2 sections?
how can you tell what pages they are on after doing conditionals pages inside the configure block area?
or do i create separate "Site building › Sections" for each department?
is there a way to organize when your site has tons of blocks?
Right now it seems like it would be hard to know what's going on with the site looking at that page. And, unless I'm thinking wrong, my site is going to have a ton of blocks....
thanks!!!
