Thanks Peter, meanwhile just found this module http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_delegate
and I am thinking of adding moderation features to it.

Would it be easy to use modr8 features like an API?

giorgio79 , I am looking for the same functionality and also came across taxonomy delegate module. Have you found any solutions to moderating taxonomy terms?
