We need the home link to be clickable so that a user can go to home.
I have added a patch so that the admin can define if he wants it that way or not.

My comments and patch are rubbish. The error came about because I was working on changed code.
Please discard patch "mod-home-url.patch"

Correction:

What we want is that the breadcrumb should also be shown on the home page.
Included is the new patch "menu-breadcrumb-show-home.patch"

I created a patch that adds the original functionality (showing Home as part of the breadcrumb), but it works with the current release of the module.
