Our beloved Druplicon has been found on many places; on t-shirts, on posters, on book covers, on magazine covers and on flyers. But seldom has our small hero left the paperworld to enter "The Real World". This cool clock was one of the first physical Druplicons I saw, followed by the famous birthday cake. So it made me wonder: why are there so many true Drupal lovers yet not that many real Druplicons? Don’t we Drupalaars like our icon? No, we do! And we need more Druplicons!

Asking around on IRC and mailing people, revealed that lots of people would love to have a Druplicon on their desk, in their car or in their wallet. So here it goes: create a cool physical Druplicon and post a (link to the) picture in a comment. It might be a real pumpkin Drupal style, it might be a Druplicon made of paper in orgami. Or you might want to build a giant Druplicon out of lego like this tux (and buy lots of blue pieces). You could also create a pattern to stich your own Druplicon and have a fluffy beanbag on your desk. I ordered a custom pass from a local bank so I can carry Druplicon in my wallet. Now it is time for you to get creative and create the best Druplicon you can!

Druplicon kind of looks like the slime from DQVIII:

Just paste some different eyes and voila. ;)

There is a post that has links to a cafe press store with drupal stuff...

http://drupal.org/node/15101
http://www.cafepress.com/adgraphics/970795

I also noticed in that drupal.org post that there is a store on spreadshirt.com
US shop: http://revelinuxgear.spreadshirt.com
EU shop: http://revelinuxgear.spreadshirt.net

www.Spreadshirt.com seems like a great alternative to cafepress, as they are notoriously low quality merchandise (esp. the tshirt prints.) They have coffeemugs, mouspads, coasters, licence plates, stickers,

Then there is the obvious choice: www.GoodStorm.com ... They only have Tshirts, but they use drupal for their site. They are geared toward non-profits. They charge much less than cafepress.

I'm just putting the options I know of out there. I think it would be great for the drupal core to setup these sites to raise money for whatever is needed to keep things moving, (ie. server stuff, sponsoring modules, contest prizes, etc.)

What issues are involved if someone setup their own store selling drupal stuff for their own profit? I think the drupal guys should get that stuff up before someone else does.

I remember hearing about a Drupal foundation years ago on this site, but I don't really know what kind of organization exists to donate to. If it's possible, I'll set up a few stores to raise money for the drupal project, whoever or whatever that is....

Looking forward to see what people think about this one.

I remember a couple of years ago KDE did a promo activity / competition where they got users to print-out a large copy of the new KDE logo and photograph it in some famous / beautiful / interesting place, like top of the Eiffel tower, in front of the White House, or underwater at the Great Barrier Reef. Made for some fun photo's and lots of promo material.

Well, if we are linking to merchandise... This http://www.goodstorm.com/stores/drupal place not just sells T-Shirts, but actually built using Drupal. (Disclaimer: I played a small role in coding this site.)

I'd love a squidgy stress-reliever type Druplicon. Perhaps we could release a few as geocaching hitchhikers and see how far around the world they can spread the word about Drupal :)

I made a "postbank" credit card with druplicon, tux, the php and mysql logo on it and something about "my cms can kick.." etc. dont know why (logo? text?), but the bank denied my request for this card dispied the fact that none of the logo's are copyrighted in a bad way.

Now i''l have to make a card with a photo of my g/f and daughter on it... Aaah well, just as beatifull.

There are also "Druplicon masks" and some Drupal contributors have been spotted wearing them. They ought to be pictures somewhere online ...
