Need to build a shopping cart e-commerce site.

I'd appreciate any ideas on a good choice.

This will be a standalone site so, integration with Drupal is NOT a requirement.

Open source may not be the best choice, so it may be I have to buy the app.

Regardless, I sure could use some input from someone experienced with shopping carts.

Can anyone help me port www.angelav.com and their shopping cart to drupal? I tried UC and ecommerce on over 3 shared hosting accounts I have but they keep generating error 500 even at 48 MB of RAM. www.angelav.com runs on custom code and runs on 16MB or less.

wow--- the site refused my ff3.5 browser. I'd look elsewhere.

Thanks for looking, but site is over 7 years old, had to block ff3.5 till I fix some issues, check it out with IE8 if you can. So you can see why we need to change over...

Dont get me wrong, I love all the functionality of UC and EC, and each have their strengths but I was quite frustrated as I was not able to use neither of these excellent modules with the panels and the domain modules enabled, I have since been experimenting with a multi-site setup and I have solved my problem.
Thanks to all drupal users who helped me out.
