UR-API and Zen Theme in IE

Description
As soon as I activate the UR-API, my custom zen theme crashes in IE (all versions). It looks like the columns are stripped away and so the content just stacks with header blocks aligned vertically, and then the main content box (panels hold positioning), followed by the left sidebar and the right sidebar. The footer comes in at the bottom.
Any thoughts?

Please narrow it down to UR-UI, as the API itself doesn't have js or css. You may be getting interference from user_relationships_ui/user_relationships_ui.css which styles AJAX popup dialogs.
