I have installed the notifications 6.x-2.0 module in Drupal 6.12. And I have defined a custom notification type. It is all working.

Can anyone tell me how to automatically enable my custom notification type for ALL existing users? Thanks

I cannot find a way to update all existing users to be notified of all new content on my site. If anyone has a way, please let me know. Thanks.

The notifications module and notifications_extras (add-ons) should do this.

My problem is that I cannot get custom subscriptions to work. I have posted about it here:

I have been frustrated over similar issues with the notification and notification_add_on module. The problem I have is not being able to update existing users with the nodes or tags selected for notification. I am using Custom Subscription to force notifications for Announcements and Events on for everyone and then notification module to select tags for Forums which topics of interest can be deselected by users when wanted. By default the new user has all forum topic tags selected, by hand of course. My problem is that there is no way to go back and update all existing users if a new topic is added or changed. Or in my case the Notification table was blown away after updating to notification module 6.x-3.x-dev and uninstalling it after array error when messages moved to notification_queue. So if anyone has any ideas, I think this would be a great enhancement to the notification module and add-on by having the ability to update all users for selected notifications.
