Hi, I'm uploading my files to a server which let ffmpeg only for dedicated users. I don't need the conversion because I already upload flv files, but I don't have thumbnails.
1) Is ffmpeg creating the thumbnails? if so, is there a way to create a thumbnail without using it? what the thumbnail filename should look like - in case I'll decide to create the thumbnail buy myself.
2) Is there a way to install ffmpeg by myself (after downloading it from ffmpeg.com svn)?

1) Yes, ffmpeg creates the thumbnails. If you create them yourself locally without using ffmpeg, I don't know how you'd wangle it so you could manually insert them into the field required.
2) Yes, but I'm guessing if your hosting isn't dedicated then they won't let you do it. But sure, I run a dedicated box and installed it by myself and it works fine.

Sorry it's not good news from me, but either get on a box that has ffmpeg available to you or... it's fairly uphill all the way!
