I think the Contributors pages http://drupal.org/node/14205 should go into the Docteam http://drupal.org/contribute/documentation section and not the Documentation section http://drupal.org/node/14279

mlncn commentedHmmm... that is a point, but I disagree because the docteam section - /contribute/documentation - is "Contribute to Documentation", it is about getting involved, and the contributors page is about giving credit.
[I don't know what the etiquette is here but I'm marking "by design" to try to keep the doc issue queue manageable, but i have no more, in fact less, standing than MGParisi.]
However, added a link to /contribute/documentation to the Contributors page so that people can see how they can get involved, too.

MGParisi commentedthe problem with "by design" is that it hides the issue from the main queue. The status's are described in the section "Issue Report Status" here http://drupal.org/node/24565
Im switching this back since I want more then one person to discuss the topic. If the general opinion is to keep it where it is, then thats fair, but I want a chance for people to talk about it.

leehunter commentedThat whole documentation section totally doesn't belong under "About Drupal".
It should go on the doc landing page, replacing About Drupal (which is on the doc page even though it's not documentation).

jhodgdonLeeHunter: Can you add URLs to your comment? I'm slightly confused about which text/pages you think should go where, so hard to comment on it. Or maybe it's just Friday night of a long week...

leehunter commentedWhat I meant was that this section http://drupal.org/node/14279 should not be under About Drupal.
Also it's a problem that the About Drupal section itself appears on the Doc landing page (http://drupal.org/handbooks) at the bottom left. Since About Drupal is mostly not about documentation except for the one section I mentioned at the beginning of this comment it should really go somewhere. What happens right now is that if you click on the Documentation tab, the bit that actually talks about the documentation is hidden (in About Drupal) and mixed in with a lot of non-documentation stuff.
What I'd recommend is that, on the doc landing page, replace that lower left section with http://drupal.org/node/14279 but rename it from "Documentation" to something like "About documentation".
Sorry if this is confusing.

MGParisi commentedI am taking myself off of the "Assigned" handler of this issue. I will be taking a leave from Drupal Documentation.
