User profile is not viewable, page is blank, can edit though

I am unable to view my profile or any other members having tried all the usual url's. I changed back to the core theme in the hope that it was something to do with my current theme (Salamander Skins) but the problem is still there. For some reason I am able to edit the profile info but not view the usual page that shows the details. I have tried disabling various modules to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem?

In my case, once I had actually entered profile fields, the profile path would resolve and show the user's content. If you look at the view query for the profile, you'll see the fields that are trying to be pulled back for display. If the user doesnt have those fields (new user that didnt enter profile specific content), the view would show no "data", but would display the appropriate user links.

Two possibilities:
1. You have a module that does something to the profile page, but its not working properly (I thought it might be a custom modification to your theme template, but if its happening in two themes, then its not). Try disabling all non-core modules and see what happens.
2. There is a folder on your server that uses the /user path. Check to see if your drupal folder has a "user" folder in it.
Other than that, no idea, I'm afraid.
