no logo or banner background

I cannot get the theme to display my logo, even though I am providing the full URL with http: and the image shows in my browser. I have specified this image in both global and Vitzo configuration settings.

Also I would like an image to serve as the backdrop behind the logo. Normally I simply edit the .css for this, but I cannot get Vitzo to display this image either. I have edited #logo_container in positioning.css as follows:

#logo-container { min-height: 70px; height: 70px; float: left; background-image: url('http://www.mysite.org/filename.jpg') no-repeat top right; }

So far my whole banner area is just a white box.
