I would like to display a block on each node page containing the top search terms that were used to get to that page. So far I haven't found a way, but this module gets close in that it at least gives me the data.

Any ideas on how I could accomplish such a thing? Could it be implemented as a feature?

Project: Search Engine Referers » Search Keywords
Version: 5.x-1.1 » 5.x-1.x-dev

Two remarks:

  1. The feature you are requesting is a bit too advanced for the intended scope of this module, which is meant to be simple and lightweight.
The Search Keywords module is a more advanced, and the feature you want fits more in there probably.
  2. I would be very careful about putting referer information on every page and making it visible to normal/anonymous users. You'll get referer spam in no time. I know, because in the original version of this module, the referer information was indeed visible to everyone, and once the spammers found out, my site was a buried with referer spam. That's why this module only offers the info on one page, only visible to administrators.

Another thing you could consider are third party tools like Google Analytics, which also offer fine grained analysis of search keywords.
