Attachment Module - Assistance

Hello,

I'm looking for the best module(s) that will allow users of my site to upload files and that will also allow other users, with the appropriate permissions, to download the files.

I'm using drupal 6.12. I know the Attachment module for 5.x exist http://drupal.org/project/attachment .

I guess my question is, is there anything available like the Attachment module for drupal 6.x?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer me, and sorry if this isn't the right place for this tread.

Web file manager is an awesome Ajax file manager for attachments and it also helps inserting images if using a WYSIWYG editor like FCKeditor (once you find and apply the patch!). http://drupal.org/project/webfm
