When using boxy (and boxy stacked) style, I noticed the node title is not showing, when looking at the full node ("forum topic") page. Viewing source of the page confirms that the title is not being printed out (i.e., it is not just hidden by CSS). Has anyone notice a similar behavior? thanks

The title is printed by your page.tpl.php. It shouldn't be printed by boxy; that's by design. Are you saying other styles are printing it?

I have the same problem... No title in the topics pages (node/*) or on forum pages (forum/*) but I have a title on "normal" nodes...

Please don't set the status to needs review when there isn't a patch to review.

What I said 2 years ago still holds true. This should be printed by your page.tpl.php, not by AF. Try another theme and see if that helps.
