Maybe I have just not yet found the right way to do this...
I have many modules active in my Drupal 6.12 and this makes updating the core cumbersome.
So here an idea to make the process better by adding two entries to the administration menu:
- Disable non-core modules (it does what it says and remembers all modules which were enabled)
- Re-enable non-core modules (it enables all modules which were disabled at last execution of the above)
So after updating the core one only needs to enable the admin menu module and thereafter the other modules can be enabled with a single click.
Obviously this would be even nicer when located directly in Drupal core..
But that means that we only get it when Drupal 7 is out, and actually there my dream would be a single click upgrade :).
Need some pros for such a function?
- maintenance downtime of website reduced
- reducing human error possibility in core upgrade process
