Adding existing file to content

I have a podcast for which I obviously want to have video or audio files. The problem is some of the files are too large to upload (not to mention the wait time). I can batch upload the files via scp, but is there a way to associate an existing file with a content field (rather than uploading it when the content is created). Something like IMCE does?
