Sorry if duplicate, this is mentioned in #333676: Facet Blocks Not Showing Up but should be its own ticket.

There is no where in the instructions (Project Page or README.txt) that describes how this module uses a separate search page. There is visually a new tab on the default search page, but it's called "Search" which does not designate any difference.

Please, please, make this a lot more obvious as I have spent way too much time trying to figure out why this all was not working.

mode this change to the README for now:

+When used in combination with core search module, Apache Solr is not the default
+search. Access it via a new tab on the default search page, called "Search"
