Using CCK Image FUpload at:

http://mysite/node/add/program-photos/list_imagefields

If you don't press the "Done Editing" button, those images show up the next time you upload to the same content type.

Users may not know where those came from. It can be common if they close tab, back a few pages, lost connection, etc..

Maybe there should be a warning? Or just remove the incompleted uploads.

It has not to be a down-side,has it?

Cron could be used to delete the images after a while, let's see.

Can you put some example of how to delete them with Cron? Im using this module and i love it, but this problem is getting bigger on my site.
