Boy,

This has gotten frustrating. I think I've created the only music oriented web site in the western world that has a built in resistance to the presence of an MP3 player. Folks can upload MP3 files to their blog and forum posts, but I've not found any way of getting a player to show up so they can get played with any sort of style. The Wordpress module certainly looked promising, but it's not showing up either. I can upload an MP3 file to a forum post, and it shows up alright. When I click on it my PC's default player, in my case Quicktime, plays the file. It works but it's very messy and breaks the user's navigation (he has to hit 'back' to get back to the post if he wants to read, comment, or what have you).

I've previously tried the Audio module (broken and not ready for release in Drupal 6 as of this writing), JQuery Media, SWF Tools, and now this, and I can't get anything to show up.

Right now the closest that I've gotten to what I'm after is with SWF Tools and to get that to work I have to go into each post, and write the embed code. That way the configured player will at least show up in the post but it requires a manual step so it's nothing that can be used in a production site.

Any ideas?

So you've setup a filefield on the content types forum and blog. Changed the display fields on those content types to the MP3 Player instead of the standard file listing?

This is embarrassing. I had missed setting up the filefield for those content types. I'm a newbie and I was looking in all the wrong places.

Thanks for your help. It's all working now.
