I thought it would be handy if we could use a wild card in applicable SKUs - like MOD* would pick up any SKU that starts with MOD.

I need this as well. I work for a publishing company, and we sell different combinations of books and ebooks. I need to be able to say, "apply this coupon only to ebooks." In other words, I need to be able to say: Apply only to SKUs *-E in taxonomy term [whatever].
