For reasons I cannot determine, the Youtube search option has disappeared from my Kaltura Media Node screen. (Note: I see the same behavior on your demo site from my computer).

I can't see any error messages that explain what is happening in the log though it does record the start of a "session".

Any idea what is going on?

Yes, that' s possible which is why I have posted here to get some feedback from Kaltura and others who lurk here on whether this is a bug or something else.

Kaltura has disabled the YouTube upload function due to abuse. From what I understand, several members of the public were adding media from YouTube to the Kaltura Network without permission from the authors of the content (which is obviously a major copyright issue).

Any progress on getting YouTube back?

During the past few months many of the 3rd party content providers have made significant changes to their APIs, thus technically blocking the possibility to integrate with platforms such as Kaltura.

Our management team has been in contact with executives at YouTube and other providers for the past several weeks, however we regret to say that at this time we have not been able to obtain any commitment from these providers to support this functionality.

Therefore, we were forced to remove the YouTube and other similar tabs from our Contribution Wizard. Our team is continuously attempting to reach a better solution to this issue and should any such solution become available we will happily restore the tabs as appropriate.
