Hello Everyone,
I have the following problem
1) i have created a content type called "advertisement" and made it a product using "e-commerce" module
2) administrator creates a content for content type "advertisement" by entering the price and sku for it.
3) anonymous users are given access to edit the content of content type "advertisement" and upload photos and enter text in body, but they Should not be allowed to edit the PRICE AND SKU AND OTHER PRODUCT RELATED DETAILS.
Is there any way i can disable the product related details from editing by anonymous users.
Can anybody tell me how to fix the above probem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,
Let me reframe my question as follows----how can we disable the product details like price,sku etc for anonymous users with edit permissions with content types that have products details so that they are allowed to enter only the title, body and upload images?
OR
can anyone tell me how can i disable a particular details like a textbox within a content type for a particular role with edit permissions.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure why you would allow anonymous users to have edit permissions, but you can control permissions at the field level by enabling the content permissions module (part of cck) and then setting permissions as desired at admin/user/permissions.

Thanks for the Suggestion WorldFallz. I followed your suggestion but was not able to disable the product details as i wanted-infact the product fields were not listed in content permissions.

that's odd-- but i'm familiar with ubercart, not ecommerce. Perhaps posting over the issue queue would be more fruitful.
