Of course, advanced knowledge regarding RDF will be required for this project. Since my knowledge at the moment is more that of an informed outsider one of the first steps will be to read through some relating material.

I'll also check out the existing RDF-related efforts in drupal in detail.

I read a bit of material, and also already part of a book titled "Practical RDF" from the O'Reilly series.

Will mark as fixed once I investigated the RDF drupal module in detail.

I read the book "Practical RDF" and didn't find it very relevant especially coming from a PHP perspective. It is good wrt to the theory explained in it (beginning of the book), but I would not spend too much time reading the practical chapters, which I found to be outdated with all the new libraries available today. Example, the PHP library described in the book (RAP) is not so used nowadays, and ARC PHP is currently the most promising library (and the most used).

Thanks for the tip. I borrowed it mostly for the theoretical basics anyways, so I'll just skip the rest.

I have now also taken a look at the RDF module, so I should have the necessary RDF knowledge for this project. Therefore, marking this as fixed.
