hi
i want to divide my hompage in two. on the left a text message for introduction and on the right a slideshow rotationg image. my site is a multilingual site, so the hompage should be viewable in en/fr
please how to do it with with module of piece of code.

You can use the Panels module
You can use the Panels module or custom coding to separate the front page into two different columns. I have always coded my own slideshows, but you could look at http://drupal.org/node/418616 and http://drupal.org/project/slideshow_creator for alternatives.
