Just finished a web site for a friend of mine who runs an event marketing agency. For my very personal taste I think the site has a little to many gimmicks, but my friends likes that. Personally, I would have preferred a more purer approach but still, any comments from you folks highly welcome!

Very nice. Good to see that someone use drupal to make sites that doesn't use the standard dull themes.

It looks very nice. I really love the header! I hope you don't mind some critique as well (since you asked...):

For my very personal taste I think the site has a little to many gimmicks, but my friends likes that.

There are indeed some usability problems:

1. (serious) Some of the backgrounds make the text almost completely unreadable (eg the hands, the balls, smoke, the hallway and sunset). For a number of backgrounds the solution would be to also change the text-color. Some backgrounds have to many contrasting areas (eyelashes), where this won't work. This is, in my opinion, a very serious issue for a company that claims to be a renowned Design agency.

2. (nitpick) the music really clashes with 'Wir eilen mit schwachen doch emsichen Schritten" (BWV 78) and quite possibly also with thousands of other pieces of music people may be listening to when visiting the site.

I hope you can convince your friend to make some changes...

Hi Heine,

thank you for the feedback - actually I had to laugh reading it:

1. (serious) Some of the backgrounds make the text almost completely unreadable

I cannot agree more with you. I have raised this issue. My initial design did not include any of these background images, it was only white pages with dark grey text and every now and then a floated image to go along the text. My friend and client did not however want this. Hi thought of it being dull. Him having found iStockphoto but got him in a mere "picture obsession" and so he asked me to do these backgrounds and change the text color to dark blue... well...

2. (nitpick) the music really clashes...

LOL - yeah, the music IS a bit too much in any consideration. However it suits my client, honestly! He loves the theatralic appearence. You know: "ENTERS HERO!" :-) If it were my site I wouldn't have put up music at all :-)

Nonetheless, I am very grateful for all feedback! Thanks a lot for pointing out these things, hopefully people here can and will use these advices to make their sites truely perfect. But then, we propably all know that the client will always remain the last instance - and: the client is always right! ;-)

Beste groeten van München naar Amsterdam,
