When using this module (works great, it also finally gave me a clear understanding of how all the taxonomy stuff works together) all the blocks appear as they should for anyone who is logged in and all anonymous users who are on any page, except the front page. When an anonymous user visits the front page, none of the blocks appear.

I switched the blocks to the other side (using the default theme, just CSS changes, so it was in the admin panel) and than back and than they appeared. I tried to reproduce things, including restoring from a back up that is two days old, but I can't reproduce it, so that leaves one thing. User error. Sorry! :(
