ChipIn for Ubercart and RSVP integration
Hello all,
after some discussions within the RSVP issue queue, I decided to setup a ChipIn on my website that you can use if you are interested in an integration of Ubercart module and the RSVP module, and maybe adding some changes to integrate Signup and RSVP better.
The following topics discussed some requirements briefly:
#461720: RSVP and ubercart integration
#67928: Integration w/ Signup module
#460952: Which method is best for event registration
#303052: Ubercart for Events in D6?

Please post all your ideas, wishes and comments to this forum topic. The more information I get before start coding the better the integration will be.
Thanks,
Ulf

Ulf, can you also place this post on ubercart.org for the broadest distribution? (and that way you get all the responses)

The ChipIn link works
The ChipIn link works now.
Here is my first draft of the basic things that need to be implemented in the RSVP module to make it work with ubercart.
Using its own content type, it will be possible to either purchase events through ubercart, and then automatically maintain the invitations from within the rsvp module. But it will also be possible to work the other way around.
You start an invitation/signup through the RSVP module and then link it with the ubercart module to make a purchase during the "reply" phase.
Now its your turn. Please post your ideas and use cases so that we find a common ground.
Thanks,
Ulf
UC_signup module exists now
there is a uc_signup module now.

And this one

which were both just posted. How does this change the conversation?
I am trying to figure out how RSVP integrates with signup currently. That might be a good way to figure out how RSVP will also.

uc_signup seems to be the way
uc_signup seems to be the way to go if you are happy with the signup module in general.
And of course if you feel that signup has other shortcomings in respect to your project plans then those can be fixed in the signup module.
The initial purpose of the RSVP module was completely different then that of the signup module. However I know that the RSVP module could easily be extended to accommodate the same functionality then the signup module.
Thanks,
Ulf
