Amity Island Theme

So I wouldn't exactly put this under theme development, but I'm wondering why when I download the theme, it looks totally different to the exmaple and demo pages? I can understand specific content or blocks, but colours are missing, the menu is missing and so on..

Apologies for the newbie question, I just started with Drupal yesterday and this is my first post.
