Some images not loading in Safari, Opera

I'm customizing the look of Tapestry to meet a client's needs. The site is looking okay in Firefox and IE, but not rendering correctly in Safari or Opera.

It seems to me that the images in the Header and Banner regions are not loading with these two browsers. I'm not sure why. Any ideas?

Also, sometimes if the mouse is at the very bottom of the window a horizontal scroll bar appears momentarily. Anyone know why?
