Description
Now that some activity is about to begin on this module, I think it would be useful to take the following into consideration.
See: Groups.Drupal: Digg-like voting modules
Any chance, EVF and Vote Up/Down can combine forces?
It seems both modules are going in the same direction. You might get there faster if you work together.

Merc, I see you want to let other maintainers get involved. This could be your chance to lower your work load down to just Drigg and User Karma.
I'm not sure how difficult this transition will be from a technical standpoint.

Hi,
The way to go, really, would be to scrap EVB and get Drigg to use Vote Up/Down. I would be _TOTALLY_ happy to do that, although it might be a little painful.
Drigg doesn't actually depend on any one voting widget. I just wrote EVF because at the time there was no real alternative, and I needed something that worked well and always.
But, they are doing a summer of code project. I think a wise way to go about it is to wait till they are finished, and see how easily Vote Up/Down can be integrated with Drigg -- it should take 0 work in theory...
Do you agree?
Merc.

Hi,
Please note that Vote Up/Down has 148 issues open. I am not really comfortable with getting Drigg to depend on that... especially now that EVB is stable and working, and doesn't really need extra help.

Sounds good!
I'm going to add an issue at Vote Up/Down to let the new maintainer know you might be interested in merge in the future so he can plan accordingly.
Also marking as postponed.

#481614: Plan for Drigg Integration (Possible Depreciation of Extra Voting Forms)
Did I sum it up correctly, Merc?

Hi,
Sorry, I looked at Vote Up/Down more closely, and I am going to mark it as won't fix. I think they are doing a great job. It's just not what I am after for Drigg.
The real beast is Drigg. EVF and User Karma are small, functioning modules that do the job well and quietly.
The real work is in supporting new users, closing Drigg bugs, and eventually develop new features and integrate with Drupal more tightly. Look at the issue lists for EVF and user karma if you don't believe me...
Bye,
Merc.
